Aetna provides a wide range of healthcare and insurance products, including medical, dental, pharmacy, group life, disability insurance, and employee benefits. Employers and individuals are able to choose from an assortment of plans that offer varying degrees of flexibility and a range of deductible and co-payment options.

• Network-only plans such as HMO plans—with standard HMOs, consumers must choose network providers. Some HMO options, such as the Aetna Open Access HMO, waive the requirement for a primary care physician.

• Network-optional plans such as POS and PPO plans—networks are optional, but greater benefits are available to those who choose network providers. Some plans, such as the Aetna Choice POS, do not require referrals.

• Indemnity plans—including FFS plans that waive requirements for both a primary care physician and physician referrals. Consumers can choose any physician or specialist without reference to a network.

• Aetna Medicare Advantage plans—comprising HMO, PPO and PFFS plans, all of which include options for prescription drug coverage

• Dental, pharmacy, vision and disability add-ons
